cv

born 1965, Ruda Śląska.

Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and the University of the Arts (UdK) in Berlin. Lives and works in Kraków.

Lazar is an interdisciplinary artist exploring the archaeology of the present, failed utopias, and the cultural codes imposed on natural forms. She draws attention to what is usually marginalized or hidden. Her practice often combines delicate, intuitive observation with physically demanding techniques such as metallurgy and welding. Through materiality and meticulous craft, Lazar examines the tension between destruction and regeneration, between sterility and contamination. She is interested in non-systematic, sensory forms of knowledge: intuition, corporeality and embodied memory.

Her work suggests that real transformation begins where we dare to look into the overlooked and to immerse ourselves in what seems fragile, messy, or impure.
