In the late 1960s, Urszula Broll’s watercolours began to take on more geometric forms, marked by a quiet spirituality and delicate, refined colour. Working on a small scale, Broll rarely turned to canvas; most often, she painted on paper, keeping the finished works neatly stored rather than displayed. Our selection brings together these meditative watercolours with a few rare oil paintings on canvas, offering a glimpse into the artist’s evolving sensibility and her turn toward Eastern philosophies and Buddhist practice.
